BigCommerce order editing apps (2026): every option compared
As of mid-2026 there is exactly one customer-facing order editing app live on the BigCommerce Marketplace — and a few things that look like alternatives but solve a different problem. Here is every option for editing orders on BigCommerce, what each one actually does, and how to pick.

Native order editing: fine until it isn't
BigCommerce's control panel lets staff change addresses, quantities and variants. The limits: customers can't touch their own orders, nothing can be added to a paid order (the platform can't charge the difference), and refunds don't reconcile automatically. Every change is a ticket, a lookup, and a manual edit.
What "order editing app" really means
Don't confuse three different jobs. Cart editing apps modify the cart before purchase — different problem. Helpdesk actions (Gorgias, Gladly) let your agents edit and refund faster — useful, but the ticket still exists. Customer self-service editing removes the ticket entirely: the shopper fixes their own address, swaps the variant, adds an item (and pays for it), or cancels — inside a window and rules you set.
Why the self-service category is nearly empty
Building it properly is hard: payment deltas, tax recalculation, discount preservation, refund routing, fulfillment holds. On Shopify this category is mature (the leading app holds 270+ five-star reviews at $99–$599/mo). On BigCommerce, OrderEdit.io is the shipped implementation; OrderMend is a waitlist with the same pitch and a roadmap that defers item-adds and upsells to its final phase.
How to evaluate one
- Edit window controls — can you bound it by time and by fulfillment status, with after-hours pause?
- Field-level permissions — address yes, cancel no? Your call, not the app's.
- Money correctness — are added items actually paid for, taxes recalculated, refunds routed (original payment vs store credit)?
- Revenue surface — does the edit window double as a post-purchase upsell placement?
- Proof — is it live on the Marketplace with a free trial you can test today?
